We look forward to seeing you.
Whether you are just visiting or looking for a church home, we welcome you to our St. David’s community.
Have questions? Here are a few helpful answers:
When are services?
We have two services each Sunday.
- The 8am service, conducted in the more traditional language of Rite I, is our quiet liturgy, without music or choir.
- The 10am service, which uses Rite II (contemporary English) for most of the year and Rite I during the season of Lent. During the program year, the Sunday after Labor Day to Trinity Sunday in late May/early June, our choir leads hymns and sings anthems at the 10am service; during the summer, a smaller choir leads the hymns.
Where is the church?
St. David’s is located in the 4700 block of Roland Avenue, just north of Cold Spring Lane, in the north Baltimore neighborhood of Roland Park.
Is parking available?
There is ample parking along both sides of Roland Avenue, as well as on Oakdale Road at the side of the church. Take care when using the crosswalks to cross Roland Avenue.
What do I wear?
We want you to feel at home. Some parishioners like to get dressed up, while others prefer to be more casual.
How long do the services last?
The 8am lasts about 45 minutes, and the 10am is about an hour long.
Are there activities for children?
Sunday School for children begins at 9:50am in the Day School Chapel downstairs. The Sunday School kids come up to the church after the sermon and join their parents for Communion. If your children would rather stay with you for the entire service, we have coloring sheets and crayons in a basket when you enter the church, and there’s also a small area on the north side of the church where children can quietly play. Our professionally-staffed nursery, located downstairs off the Great Hall, is open from 9am until noon.
Can I receive communion?
All baptized Christians, regardless of age or denomination, are invited to receive Communion in the Episcopal Church. If you are not baptized, but feel called to Communion, then you are also being called to baptism; please speak to the clergy for more information. If you wish to receive a blessing instead of the bread, cross your arms in front of your chest and the priest will bless you. If you receive the bread but not the wine, cross your arms in front of your chest when the chalice comes to you. If you are unable to come to the altar rail, notify an usher that you would like to receive Communion in your pew. Gluten-free wafers are available for those who need them; ask the priest at the altar rail.
